The Never Lose Your Drive Foundation Inc (NLYD) is a 501 C-3 Non-Profit Organization registered in the State of Massachusetts. The charity directly funds The Headstart Music Program – currently being conducted in 3 locations: Bridgetown, Barbados, Roxbury, Massachusetts, and Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The NLYD Foundation also provides Scholarship assistance for students attending the Berklee College of Music 5-Week Aspire Program.

Headstart Music is an Instrumental Program that provides weekly instruction to students ages 8-12 on beginner band instruments including Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone and Percussion. The goal of the program is to introduce Elementary School level students to Woodwind, Brass and Percussion instruments, thus providing them with a “Headstart” for Middle/Secondary School band programs.

Many of our students have gone on to join Concert Band programs at the Secondary and High School level as a result of the instruction they received during the Headstart Program. Our curriculum also gives parents an opportunity to introduce artistic expression to their children, providing an outlet for individuality, creativity, and additional healthy and uplifting options for extra-curricular activities.

NLYD aims to provide music instruction and instruments to children who are unable to participate in band at their schools due to discontinued Arts Programs, or competing schedules with other programs. NLYD’s fundraising efforts are specifically designed to cover all costs related to Tutor compensation, Instrument maintenance, Books and Accessories.
